Għawdix is a deeply personal exhibition by George Apap, reflecting on Gozo as both a place and a memory. Through a series of evocative works, the artist revisits landscapes, textures, and moments that have shaped his early life, translating them into a visual narrative that is at once intimate and universally resonant.
The exhibition brings together representations of place not simply as physical settings, but as lived experiences — fragments of time, emotion, and identity. The works capture the shifting relationship between memory and reality, where familiar scenes are softened, abstracted, and reinterpreted through the passage of time.
Set within the historic Palazzo Ferreria in Valletta, the exhibition offers visitors a contemplative journey through the artist’s recollections of Gozo — its coastline, its terrain, and its quiet, enduring presence.
George Apap has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Malta over the years.
